As a producer of exclusive garden timber, we select wood from sustainably managed forests in Scandinavia and Central Europe, meaning that wood is cut only to the same rate as it can be grown. We aim for full social corporate responsibility by fully certifying our treated wood.

FSC-logoFSC (Forest Stewardship Council) is the main quality label for both hard and soft wood types. 30% of Earth's certified forests fall within the scope of FSC. Hillhout is FSC certified and participates in FSC Netherlands.

Responsible care for worldwide forests

PEFC-logoPEFC is an international non-profit organisation established in 1999. PEFC is an abbreviation of Programme for Endorsement of Forest Certification schemes. Their objective is sustainable management of forests throughout the world in terms of the economical, ecological and social function of a forest. Now and also in the future. 60% of Earth's certified forests fall within PEFC's scope. Hillhout is PEFC certified. Our certified wood mainly originates from Scandinavia and Germany. Over 80% of our soft wood originates from PEFC forests.
